As many of you know we have many street folk and poor folk coming to Indawo for help and assistance with food, showering and washing of their clothes. We felt that it would be a good thing to encourage them to help us in our gardens for the help they receive from us. They are quite willing and on a Tuesday Natal (our maintenance man and gardener) shows them what needs to be done and then joins them in the garden. The result is obvious – our gardens are looking great and we reap a lot of veggies that we in turn give out to the needy.
In the same way we encourage the ladies to learn how to knit. This helps them to learn how to make jerseys and scarves for their own family and also gives a time of fellowship and fun.
